UPDATE
I made a video tutorial explaining how to instal the codes. Here it is :
Original post :
You see them everywhere… “Pimp MySpace”, MySpace codes, MySpace layouts… but you don’t know how to install it to your profile ? Well I made a nice and easy to follow tutorial on how to install those magic codes.
Get the code into the clipboard
First, you need to get the code of course. For example, you could use my “Simple Layout Wizard” to generate a customized code for your MySpace Profile. The codes you would get should look like this :
<style>
.navigationBar tbody tr td table tr td,
.navigationBar {
visibility: hidden;
display: none;
background-color: white;
}
etc …
Most of the time you’ll have to chose some options like background color, images, header, what to display, etc… Then, at the end of all that stuff, you get the magic code, most of the time in a textarea like this :
Now all you have to do is to copy this text to the clip board. Here is how to do this on Windows :
- Click in the text area.
- Hold, on your keyboard, the key CTRL then press A and release both keys. All the text should be selected. Also, it’s possible that a nice automatic script will select all the code for you when you click in the textarea.
Install the code in MySpace
After that, the code will be saved in your clip board. Now you need to paste the code in your MySpace profile’s “About” section. Here is how to do it :
- Go to myspace.com
- Signup with your username and password information. If you don’t have an account, you can go the the “Sign up page“
- Click on the “Edit profile” link that should be at the right of your picture
- In the “Edit profile” page, click in the text box besides the “About me” title.
- Hold the “CTRL” key and press the “V” key (while holding the CTRL key) to paste the code that was in your clipboard into the text box. Alternatively, you can click with the right button of your mouse in the text box and choose “paste” from the menu.
- Click the “Save all changes” button in the “Edit profile” page
- To see what your “new” profile looks like, click on the top right link “View my profile”
- If you don’t like the result, you can use your browser’s back button to go back, delete the code in the “About me” text box and click on the “Save all changes” button.
You still have questions ?
